Vom Spielfeld zum Testraum - Sportliche “Sicherheitsarchitekturen” und die Pazifizierung von Protest

Zwischen heillosen Hooligans und profitablen Perspektiven, zwischen theoretischer Terrorgefahr und urbanem Umbau ist für Veranstalter und Sponsoren, Gastgeber und Großkonzerne in den vergangenen Jahren durch Mega-Sportevents – von den Olympischen Spielen bis zu den FIFA- und UEFA-Meisterschaften – ein Markt entstanden, der für Polizei, Militär
und Geheimdienste zugleich als Testfeld für die Erprobung von neuen Sicherheitsstrategien, -techniken, -produkten und -gesetzen fungiert und zum Teil in Forschungsprojekte gegossen wird.

Die Veranstaltung zeigt anhand verschiedener Beispiele jüngerer Großveranstaltungen aus der Welt des Sports und der ›großen Politik‹, wie der Testraum Sport auch genutzt wird, um kulturellen, sozialen und politischen Protest zu identifizieren, zu kriminalisieren und zu bekämpfen. Die Veranstaltung zeigt auch, wer von diesen Mega-Events profitiert und beleuchtet dabei insbesondere das Forschungsprojekt INDECT und die UEFA-Fußballmeisterschaft in Polen und der Ukraine.
